Remove cover (1) and circlip (2), using a suitable tool.

Attention

Drilling too deeply into a shaft sealing ring can result in damage to the components behind the ring.

Always use a stop to prevent the twist drill from drilling too deep.

Using drill stop (No. 00 8 586), drill a hole into the shaft sealing ring.

Remove shaft sealing ring with pull rod (No. 00 8 581), impact weight (No. 00 8 582) and adapter(No. 00 8 587).

Check the bearing for metal particles; clean if necessary.

Position shaft sealing ring (1) with the closed side out (arrow) and use drift (No. 33 1 892) to install it until fully seated.

Install circlip (2) and cover (3).
